In the spring of 1987, U2 released The Joshua Tree – an album that would go on to sell more than 25 Million copies. The second single from that album was a song titled “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
Perhaps you’ll remember the lyrics:
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone
I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for -Bono
Well, the song struck a chord with people all over the world and 26 years later, it’s still on the set list for every U2 performance. It seems a lot of other people still haven’t found what they’re looking for either.
So what are traders looking for? Well, money is always a good place to start – and most aren’t making the money they want to be because in the long run they aren’t making any at all.
But, like most things you look for and can’t find, the answer is not to double down and look harder. To steal another line from Bono:
We thought that we had the answers,
It was the questions we had wrong
(11 O’clock Tick Tock)
If you’ve run and crawled, scaled wales, and conversed with angels and demons on your journey to become a professional trader then perhaps you’re ready for a different path. Stay tuned. A different path is definitely where we’re headed.
